As some of you may already know, Focus OneWellness is based out of Iowa. If you’re from Iowa, chances are you have either been to or at least heard of the Des Moines Downtown Farmers Market. I am not even bragging when I say that we have one of THE BEST farmers markets around. (I have been to enough farmers markets to know a good one when I see one and we definitely have a good one).
The market brings together nearly 300 different vendors from across the state. You can find everything from jewelry to fresh produce to wine and even live music. With such a huge list of vendors, it can be overwhelming when deciding on which you want to visit. To make your trip to the market a little easier, here is a list of a few of my FAVORITE vendors:
To Eat:
- Farm Kids Food Company – 4th St. North of Court Ave.
- Start the morning right with a breakfast burrito! Better yet, leave the tortilla behind and order a delicious burrito bowl.
- Fresh Cafe and Market – 3rd St. North of Court Ave.
- Did someone say organic wraps and veggie burgers?! Count me in!
To Drink:
- Java Joes Coffee House – 4th St. North of Court Ave.
- Enjoy fresh brewed coffee or a delicious espresso drink to cool you down.
- Fresh Cafe and Market – 3rd St. North of Court Ave.
- Not in the mood for coffee?! Try a refreshing fresh fruit smoothie! Or take a walk on the wild side with a shot of wheatgrass.
Not hungry or thirsty? No problem! Walking around and exploring the different vendors is a great way to get some steps in for the day nice and early in the morning! Often times I find myself just wandering up and down Court Avenue browsing through the different vendors booths, listening to the live music and chatting with my friends. I have to admit, every time I do make the trip to the market, stopping at Java Joes is a MUST!
